Studio介绍：
Ripafratta Castle is one of the most important fortifications in the territory of Pisa and it is an iconic element of its landscape. It is part of a bigger cluster of medieval fortresses in the “Monti Pisani” area, which are mainly abandoned, whereas they represent a relevant artistic and territorial value. During the last decades, spotlights were focused on the reuse of Ripafratta Castle, thanks to a considerable citizen action, which pressed for its renovation with many initiatives, both on territorial and national scale.
This project aims to give visive strength to the fortress and to prove that it is still possible to bring life inside it, after such a long time in which it has been a ruin. Studentswill be invitedd to conceive a design
Studio 目的：
Rome wasn’t built in a day.
Every architects and every person who is living in a city knows that they are built in a long period of time.
The layers of history are overlapped together in order to create the present situation of every place where we can go or stay.
But sometimes buildings and spaces need a second, a third or maybe a fourth chance.
They can be transformed into something else and they can wait for the transformation for a really long time.
This is the case in which time has passed and spaces are changed and only few persons still remember about what it used to be.
Our mission is to think what it will be, but starting from what it was.
This because future and past are strongly linked together, and no future is possible without knowing the past.
The challenge is how to integrate something with something really old and viceversa.
