studio背景

Located in the center of the old city of Lisbon, the Castle of São Jorge is a historical site and sight seeing attraction for both locals and tourists.

圣豪尔赫城堡位于里斯本老城的中心，对当地人和游客来说都是一个历史遗迹和观光景点。

Every year, thousands of tourist visit the castle because it offers city view it offers from the high vantage point.

Due to the large number visitors, the queue and the wait to get to the top of the castle becomes long and unpleasant.

Each group will research and redefine the role of this new entrance to the castle and find a balance between the castle and the city as a whole.

Each student will define their essence of Lisbon, and each develop their own deep understanding of the place.

How do we create a public space that is deeply rooted to the essence of the place? Finding the the balance and relationship between indoor and outdoor public space to create something meaningful and functional for the place.
