书名:《Mask of Medusa》
John Hejduk
John Hejduk, Dean cf the School of Architecture at The Cooper Union in New York since 1975, is an inspiring teacher, an internationally known architect, and an artist and poet of great originality
His collected works from thirty-six productive years are here assembled for the first time in one massive volume. The cross-referenced time frames into which the book is divided evoke places where Hejduk‘s works were produced and events that inspired him.
Mask of Medusa is both a kind of pedagogical text probing the nature and limits of architectural programs, and a gallery of designs and projects often bordering on the enigmatic. Hejduk’s own voice is a guide through the maze, revealing his ideas about architecture‘s relationship to socio-cultural currents and unfolding new perspectives for the imagination. Among the sixty-five documented projects ar his well-known Diamond and Texas Houses, the Bye House and Wall House l, and such previously unpublished works as the Piano House, the P.S.47BX1936 House and the New Town for the New Orthodox.

John Hejduk,
在65个有记录的项目中,有著名的Diamond和Texas Houses、the Bye House和Wall House L,以及之前未出版的Piano House、P.S.47BX1936House和he New Town for the New Orthodox.
For the first time, and in a beautifully designed volume, the collected workprojects, drawings, essays, and poemsof one of America's foremost architects, architectural thinkers, and educators is brought together.
Hejduk, an intellectual descendant of the heroic period of modern architecture, has consistently used and maneuvered the modernist vocabulary, forcing it, in the design process, to reflect his personal poetic vision. Sections, plans, and axonometrics are complemented with rough or thumbnail sketches showing their germination. These beautiful drawings take on a narrative strength when grouped together and serve to illuminate Hejduk's architectonic thoughts. Also integrated within the book are his site-specific sculptures, like the Berlin Masque, and watercolors from the Italian Sketches. Highly recommended.
