由于增材制造和材料技术的不断发展，设计师与材料的对话不断增加，不再仅仅局限于在设计过程的末端才会发生的材料选择，而是主动地将更多的技术手段融入设计过程的诸多环节，创造出混合的、智能的、动态连接的材料，或者基于生物设计理论的生态材料：这些新材料通常具备独特的物理属性和体验属性，带来不同的感官体验和交互体验，并同时包含前沿的绿色设计属性。新材料设计正在不断开拓设计的界限，形成一个跨学科的新兴综合设计领域：材料设计。

为了让同学们了解材料设计与交互，米理博士Ziyu Zhou老师，将会介绍其博士所在课题组“材料体验实验室”的相关工作，以及工作后所在的“材料设计研究所”的情况。希望能从材料设计的视角，帮助同学们打开设计的另一种可能，并且为大家的求学或职业生涯以启发。
